MEGlobal operates the FS1 EO/EG (Ethylene Oxide/Ethylene Glycol) plant in Fort Saskatchewan in the Alberta Province of Canada, home to approximately 45 employees. The Fort Saskatchewan site began operations in 1961.
In addition to the MEGlobal EO/EG plant, the site is also home to The Dow Chemical Company who operate five world-scale plants including Fracionator, Ethylene, Polyethylene, STYROFOAM™, power and utilities.

Production Capacity
The FS1 EO/EG plant is one of the largest in Canada, producing more than 600,000 pounds of ethylene oxide and 850,000 pounds of ethylene glycol every year.

For the fourth consecutive year, MEGlobal’s Fort Saskatchewan Operations played a key role in helping Dow Chemical Canada remain an EnviroVista Leader in 2009, one of only 30 Alberta facilities honored in recognition of outstanding performance that exceeds the expectations of the province’s environmental legislation and demonstrates responsibility, stewardship and an ongoing commitment to improving environmental performance.
