Luciano Poli

Luciano Poli is Finance Director for Dow Europe and MEAF, Member of the European Executive Management Team and Member of the Regional Ethics and Compliance Committee.

Prior to being appointed to the roles of Finance Director for Dow Europe and MEAF in September 2010, Luciano Poli was the Regional Finance Director for Asia/Pacific.

Poli’s 22-year career at Dow has spanned all Treasury processes, Finance, and M&A projects & management.  He first joined Dow in Horgen, Switzerland in 1989 and subsequently held various Treasury and Finance positions in Switzerland, South Africa and Spain. 

In 2001, Poli moved back to Switzerland as Regional Finance Director for Middle East & Africa, India, and Switzerland with additional European responsibilities for financing and treasury people management. He was instrumental in implementing Dow’s strategy in the Middle East via JVs, key petrochemical projects and M&A transactions.

In May 2006 he moved to Shanghai as Regional Finance Director for Asia Pacific. He was responsible for overall finance operations in the area, including treasury, controller, tax, M&A, investor relations, corporate risk management (insurance), strategic planning and other finance activities.  In Shanghai, he was also a member of the Ethics & Compliance Committees and the boards of various Dow entities and joint ventures in the area (Siam Cement, Optimal, LG-Dow).

Before Dow he worked for Alusuisse SA in Zurich and Sydney in the accounting and treasury department.
