MEGlobal operates two plants at the Prentiss site in Red Deer in the Alberta Province of Canada, home to approximately 150 employees. The site was built near the city of Red Deer because of its proximity to abundant natural resources, transportation routes and a skilled workforce.
- The Prentiss I Ethylene Oxide/Ethylene Glycol (EO/EG) plant started up in 1984 and has a capacity of 310 kilotons per annum of Monoethylene glycol
- The Prentiss II EO/EG plant started up in 1994 and has a capacity of 350 kilotons per annum of Monoethylene glycol
In addition to MEGlobal, the Prentiss location is also home to The Dow Chemical Company who operate a world-scale polyethylene plant on the site.

For the fifith consecutive year, MEGlobal's Prentiss Operations was named an EnviroVista Leader in 2010, one of only a handful of Alberta facilities honored in recognition of outstanding performance that exceeds the expectations of the province's environmental legislation and demonstrates responsibility, stewardship and an ongoing commitment to improving environmental performance.
