Marilyn Sharp 4-H Scholarship offered by MEGlobal & Dow Canada for 2022
Lacombe County, Alberta, [April 20, 2022] — MEGlobal Canada ULC (MEGlobal) & Dow Canada (Dow) are proud to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Marilyn Sharp 4-H Scholarship, a post-secondary scholarship for current or previous members of a 4-H Club in the West Central Region.
The scholarship was established by MEGlobal and Dow, which operate manufacturing facilities at the Prentiss site in Alberta, in recognition of Marilyn’s longtime volunteer contributions as a member of the Prentiss Community Advisory Panel (CAP).
The successful applicant must demonstrate academic achievement, overall 4-H achievement and public speaking participation. This is the second year the scholarship is being awarded.

Her insightful questions and suggestions on behalf of site neighbors and the region made a lasting impact on how both MEGlobal and Dow have operated and communicated with our stakeholders. Marilyn has been a passionate advocate for both education and agriculture, something this scholarship was conceived to recognize.”
Wylie Pietsch was the first recipient of a Marilyn Sharp Scholarship in 2021. A civil engineering student at the University of Calgary, Wylie was instrumental in the startup of the YYC Agriculture Student’s Club, an organization dedicated to helping rural students transition to the University of Calgary campus.
“This scholarship has allowed me to continue to give back to the community while achieving academic excellence at the University of Calgary,” he wrote in a thank you letter to Sharp.
The $1,000.00 scholarship, part of 4-H Alberta’s Provincial scholarship program, will be offered annually until 2025. Current or former qualifying 4-H members in the West Central Region can apply at https://www.4hab.com/scholarships/ by May 2, 2022, at 12:00PM.
