MEGlobal Canada ULC Prentiss Site Employee Campaign Coordinator (ECC), Kirsten Davis, has been named the top ECC of 2021 by the United Way of Central Alberta (UWCA).

MEGlobal was also recognized for contributing the second highest amount to UWCA, giving more than $151,000 to help meet community needs through the 2021 Employee Charities Campaign.

The awards were given out virtually by UWCA and covered on RD News Now

“We are so honored to receive these awards,” said Davis. “Our MEGlobal United Way Committee has worked so hard this past year and came up with some creative ideas to engage employees working at home and at site.”

The 2021 campaign included $74,715 in employee contributions, $74,715 in matching funds from MEGlobal and $3,502 in special events. MEGlobal also gave 20 pallets of bottled water to Alberta Health Services in Wetaskiwin for local school divisions and vulnerable populations.

“The United Way provides so much support that is so important to our communities and this is well know by everyone in MEGlobal, so it allows us to have such successful campaigns year after year,” Davis said.

“I want to congratulate Kirsten and everyone at MEGlobal Prentiss for being recognized for the excellent campaign that was held in 2021,” said Rocco Schurink, VP of Manufacturing. “Our communities and non-profits really benefit from the funds that are raised and they appreciate that our employees truly care about others in their communities.”

Overall, MEGlobal employees and their corporate offices in North America gave more than $235,000 to the United Ways of Central Alberta, the Alberta Capital Region, Brazoria County, TX and Greater Houston, TX in 2021.
