Brazoria County, TX – January 22, 2024
MEGlobal, a leading company committed to community wellbeing, proudly announced the success of its annual United Way Employee Charities campaign at a ceremony at its Oyster Creek, Texas location on January 22, 2024. The campaign generated a remarkable donation of $71,700 to the United Way of Brazoria County and United Way of Greater Houston, setting a new record for the company.
The campaign’s success was made possible through the collective generosity of MEGlobal employees and corporate contributions. Employee contributions totaled $31,790, while special events raised $9,910. Additionally, MEGlobal demonstrated its commitment to the wellbeing of local communities with a substantial corporate contribution of $30,000.
This year’s special events, including a dominos tournament, bingo, trivia contest, Golden Ticket chocolate bar sale, and silent auction, not only contributed to the fundraising success but also added a sense of fun and camaraderie to the workplace.
Employees also volunteered their time to the Fort Bend Women’s Center, Brazosport Cares Food Pantry and Brazoria County Dream Center, demonstrating their commitment to actively helping others in the community.
United Way’s annual fundraising campaign aims to contribute $1.5 million dollars to the Community Impact Fund, providing vital financial resources to 37 programs at 27 partner agencies throughout Brazoria County.
“MEGlobal’s generous donation will significantly contribute to reaching more individuals and families across the county,” said Erin Spoor, United Way of Brazoria County Director of Resource Development. “We truly value and appreciate their support.”
Trish Thompson, MEGlobal spokesperson, expressed gratitude to all those who participated, stating, “MEGlobal employees have an amazing heart for people in need, and their incredible generosity really showed. The best thing about our employee charities campaign is that we don’t just raise money; we also have fun and reach a deeper awareness of how our actions can make a positive difference in our communities. Thank you to United Way for providing us with the information and resources we needed to make this year’s campaign the best ever.”
MEGlobal remains committed to fostering positive change and looks forward to continued collaboration with organizations like the United Way to create a lasting impact on the Brazoria County community.
