EQUATE’s MEGlobal Oyster Creek Site celebrates five-year anniversary with safety and production milestones
Brazoria County, TX – September 29, 2024
Today the MEGlobal Oyster Creek Site celebrated its fifth anniversary of operations with a perfect OSHA safety record and the production of its fifth million ton of ethylene glycol (EG).
MEGlobal is a subsidiary of EQUATE Petrochemical Company K.S.C.C. (EQUATE).
The site began production Sept. 29, 2019 after finishing construction ahead of schedule, below budget and with an excellent safety record. It marked the first time the EQUATE Group established a new EG facility in the United States.
The site has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades including two “Caring For Texas” awards from the Texas Chemical Council in 2023 and 2024 and the “Best Project” award from the Engineering News Record in 2020.
There have been zero personal safety incidents at the site since operations began.

In addition to the safety and production milestones, the site has substantially contributed to the wellbeing of the communities in which it operates, donating more than $1.75 million and 2,000 volunteer hours to local education and charitable organizations since 2019.
