2025
Responsible Care® Company of the Year (Small Company Category)
The American Chemistry Council (ACC) awarded MEGlobal Americas Inc. the industry’s highest honor for excellence in environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) performance, naming it the Responsible Care® Company of the Year in the Small Company Category. This award is given annually to companies that demonstrate superior performance and leadership in EHS&S programs, community outreach, and continuous improvement across all aspects of chemical manufacturing. MEGlobal was selected for its industry-leading safety performance, community partnerships, and strong sustainability metrics.
Responsible Care® Initiative of the Year Award
MEGlobal Americas Inc. was recognized for its part in the development of the Surfside Jetty Park Playground project in Surfside, Texas. Completed in 2024, the project brought 14 petrochemical companies together with the Brazoria County Parks Department to create a playground featuring modern, ADA-compliant play equipment made of recycled plastic to support outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship. A highlight of the park is a recycling receptacle shaped like a shark that “eats” recyclable plastic, making it fun and educational for park-goers to properly dispose of plastic waste.
2024
Presented by the Texas Chemical Council (TCC) and the Association of Chemical Industry of Texas (ACIT), the Caring for Texas award recognizes exceptional safety performance and an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement in safety, community involvement, emergency response, security, and environmental stewardship.
MEGlobal’s Oyster Creek Site won the prestigious Dr. Sam Mannan Process Safety Award from the Texas Chemical Council (TCC) and the Association of Chemical Industry of Texas (ACIT) for their outstanding achievement of zero process safety incidents.
Zero Employee Incident Rate Award
MEGlobal was awarded a “Zero Employee Incident Rate Award” for achieving zero safety incidents among employees in 2024.
Zero Contractor Incident Rate Award
MEGlobal was awarded a “Zero Contractor Incident Rate Award” for achieving zero safety incidents among contractors in 2024.
MEGlobal also won a 2024 Pinnacle Award from Union Pacific (UP), honoring their dedication and commitment to safely transporting chemicals by rail, as well as a 2024 Safe Handling Award from CN, recognizing customers who load freight cars with dangerous goods and meet rigorous safety standards in the handling and transportation of regulated products.

MEGlobal Canada ULC was recognized with an Excellence in Safety Award from the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) for five straight years of outstanding safety performance. MEGlobal was one of only six companies in Canada to receive the recognition.

Small but Mighty Award of Distinction
MEGlobal Canada ULC’s Fort Saskatchewan Site was awarded the “Small But Mighty” award by the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region for its 2020 Employee Charities Campaign. The campaign raised nearly $61,000 and inspired employees to support those in need in local communities.
MEGlobal Americas Inc.’s Oyster Creek Site was named Industry Partner of the Year by the Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce for its outstanding efforts to support community initiatives and economic development in the Brazosport community.

Best Project, Industrial/Energy Category
MEGlobal Americas Inc.’s Bookrameg Project (Oyster Creek Site) was named the Best Project by Engineering News Record Texas & Louisiana for the construction of a world-scale 750,000 metric-ton-per-annum ethylene glycol facility Oyster Creek, TX. It was completed ahead of schedule, below budget and with an excellent safety record. The project was judged on its safety, international teamwork, ability to overcome challenges, innovation, complexity, contribution to the industry/community, construction quality and craftsmanship, and functionality of design and aesthetic quality.
Global Award of Merit, Power/Industrial Category
The MEGlobal BOOKRAMEG Oyster Creek Project was named an Award of Merit winner in the Power/Industrial category of the Engineering News Record’s Best Project Award for its safety performance, innovations, challenges, and design and construction quality – with a special emphasis on the diversity of global project teams and their collaboration. It also considered how the project benefits the local community and/or the construction industry.

MEGlobal Canada ULC was named one of Canada’s Safest Employers, winning Gold in the Chemistry category, awarded by Thomson Reuters and Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine. The award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in promoting the health and safety of workers. Companies are judged on a wide range of occupational health and safety elements, including employee training, OHS management systems, incident investigation, emergency preparedness and innovative health and safety initiatives.
